How can we achieve permanent healing and truly feel like we're making progress in life? The key is to heal at the root level—going deep to address the core causes rather than just skimming the surface.
First, let's understand the process that shapes our results: It's the Law of Harvest, often called Karma. Whatever we sow, we reap. But how do we use this wisdom to heal from the roots, instead of feeling hopeless, blaming others, or getting stuck in cycles of frustration?
The results in our lives stem from our actions (or inactions). We play a big role in creating our own reality. But what drives those actions? Emotions! We're emotional beings at heart, whether we admit it or not. Think about it: If you're not feeling good today, you're unlikely to "feel" like accomplishing much, right? You won't find a truly happy person isolating in the dark, self-sabotaging.
So, where do these emotions come from? They arise from our conscious and subconscious thoughts. Negative thoughts breed fear-based emotions, which lead to fear-based actions and, ultimately, negative results. The secret is learning to understand, control, and manage our emotions by mastering our thoughts. And how do we do that?
It all starts with becoming the master of our beliefs! Beliefs shape our thoughts, thoughts influence our feelings, feelings drive our emotions and actions, and actions produce our results. Here's the chain:
Beliefs → Thoughts → Feelings → Actions → Results
Even at the physical level, the root of health issues lies in our beliefs—a misalignment in the intelligence that governs our cells, beyond just DNA. When we grasp this full manifesting process, we no longer feel helpless. Instead, we empower ourselves to change from within. Most people stop at treating symptoms superficially, leading to repeated frustration and discouragement.
Take weight loss, for example. How many folks do you know who diet and exercise only to regain the weight? Short-term fixes might work temporarily, but for lifelong health, vitality, and mental clarity, we must go deeper. Excess weight often reflects holding onto heavy, negative, fear-based emotions about ourselves and the world. This "Healing from the Roots" approach applies to all areas: illnesses, financial struggles, relationship issues, and more.
Our true power lies in owning our choices—identifying false beliefs, releasing outdated negative ones, and planting new seeds of faith, hope, and positivity in their place. Seeds thrive in rich, stable soil, and for me, that soil is God. Anchoring our beliefs in divine truth allows our "tree" to grow strong and bear good fruit. Remember, this takes time; nourish the seed patiently with sensible expectations.
Essential oils can be a powerful ally here, using their positive energy to help rewire your thoughts and beliefs, accelerating focused growth.
Be honest with yourself. Look at your life—what patterns of self-sabotage or self-abuse do you see? Acknowledge the outcomes without judgment.
What are you doing (or not doing) that's contributing to these results? Trace back the behaviors honestly.
Tune into your inner world. Be self-aware and name what you're feeling—write it down or share with a trusted friend. Muscle testing can pinpoint exact emotions if you're familiar with it. Some feelings are inherited from your family line. Essential oils are great helpers too: Do a "smell test" to see which oils appeal to you (those your body needs now) and which don't (the ones addressing deeper issues). Work with the unappealing ones gradually; you'll know healing has occurred when they start smelling better. Check resources like the Using Gifts of the Earth with Faith book to identify the emotions linked to each oil.
Use your identified emotions as clues to uncover conscious and subconscious thoughts. Many are hidden or inherited, so explore family patterns. Ask: What belief underlies this thought? We often absorb societal limits or others' ideas without realizing it. Awareness lets us break those chains and create new, empowering patterns.
With insights from your thoughts, pinpoint your core beliefs. Consciously, you might believe one thing, but subconsciously (often inherited), it could be the opposite—creating inner conflict. Say the belief out loud; your body will confirm if it's false (try muscle testing). If it's destructive, intentionally release it and replace it with a positive one. This is reclaiming your power of choice!
Select enlightened beliefs that counter the old ones—words filled with light, truth, love, and power. Use books like Using Gifts of the Earth with Faith and Energy Balancing with Faith to find positive affirmations for negative emotions. Give yourself time to integrate them, following the steps below.
Intentionally select ones that align with your highest self.
Apply them aromatically, topically, or internally as suits you. They help your body feel differently, associating positive sensations with your new beliefs. When mind and body align, they rewire together.
Train your eyes to spot real-life examples of your new beliefs. List them out—build a case for positivity.
Speak your new beliefs aloud while using your oils. Dream vividly about the life they create. Consistency is key.
Picture your life with these beliefs until they feel natural and strong.
This root-level healing can transform any area of your life. As the saying goes, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results." For permanent change, dive deep and shift at the roots. Ultimately, reconnecting with God is the foundational solution—following the first and second commandments to love God and others.
I challenge you to explore beneath the surface, clarify your beliefs, and consciously choose happiness, truth, and light. We're never given more than we can handle, so yes—YOU CAN DO IT!
Here are two relatable, everyday examples of how healing at the roots—by shifting core beliefs—can create real, lasting change. I'll keep them light-hearted and a bit comical because, let's face it, we all have those "aha" moments that feel ridiculous in hindsight, like realizing you've been arguing with your own brain for years.
Meet Rob. He's the guy who seems to collect drama like some people collect stamps. Relationships fizzle, friends ghost, jobs go sideways—and Rob's go-to response? "Why does this always happen to me?" He plays the victim card like a pro, blaming everyone else: "People just don't get me," "I've given so much and get nothing back," "I'm always the one who gets hurt."
Sound familiar? These are classic excuses rooted in deeper beliefs like:
- "I'm not worthy of real connection"
- "People will always abandon or disappoint me"
- "I'm defective somehow—it's just who I am"
Physically, this shows up too: gut issues ("It's inherited!"), chronic fatigue ("It's just my body"), or even things like arthritis or asthma blamed on "bad genes" or "fungus." Rob's body is literally holding onto the heaviness of feeling unloved and unsafe.
But here's the plot twist: When Rob stops pointing fingers outward and starts digging inward, magic happens. He realizes he's a powerful creator, not a perpetual victim. He owns his power of choice and swaps those old beliefs for empowering ones:
- Old: "I'm unlovable and people always leave."
- New: "I am worthy of healthy, supportive relationships, and I attract people who value me."
He starts noticing evidence: a kind word from a coworker, a friend who actually shows up. He practices self-compassion (maybe with a daily essential oil ritual to feel grounded). Suddenly, drama dials down. Connections deepen. His body feels lighter—gut issues ease as resentment releases. Rob stops attracting "trouble" because he stops believing he's destined for it.
The comedy? Rob used to think the universe was out to get him. Turns out, the universe was just faithfully delivering what his beliefs ordered—like a cosmic Amazon Prime with a no returns policy!
Now picture Suzie, the classic overworked mom who wears "self-sacrifice" like a badge of honor. Her subconscious definition of motherhood? Endless work, zero play, total martyrdom. "Good moms put everyone else first," she thinks. "Rest is selfish. Hobbies? Guilty pleasure. Business dreams? That means neglecting the kids."
So Suzie runs on fumes: overworking, stressing, feeling guilty for even thinking about painting, writing, crafting, or learning piano. If she takes a break or travels, boom—"neglectful mother" alarm bells. Her body mirrors it: exhaustion, resentment building, maybe even health niggles from chronic stress.
I know this one personally—I was Suzie. I bought the lie that having kids means sacrificing your own joy and health. Rest felt like a luxury I hadn't "earned." Play? Only if I had a doctor's note!
Then came the root-level shift. I redefined motherhood from the inside out:
- Old belief: "A good mother sacrifices everything—her body, time, dreams—for her family."
- New belief: "I am first and foremost a Child of God, partnering divinely to raise awesome adults. I have infinite strength and inspiration when I honor myself too."
Anchoring this in God made it rock-solid. I started loving and respecting myself equally to others. The guilt melted. I carved out time for "my things" without apology—and guess what? The family didn't fall apart. They stepped up! The house got cleaner (more self-respect all around). The kids mirrored my self-care: eating better, exercising, taking initiative. They even grabbed leadership roles at school—lessons I wanted to teach but couldn't until I lived them.
It was liberating—like taking off a backpack full of bricks I'd been carrying for years. And the bonus? When I succeeded in my business and shared the journey, the whole family celebrated. Confidence spread like wildfire.
This isn't just a "mom thing"—Stressful Seans exist too! Dads who see fatherhood as endless drudgery create that reality: burnout, short tempers, missing the joy. Shift the belief to "I'm a powerful, joyful partner in this adventure with God and my family," and suddenly play, presence, and balance show up.
The funny part? Suzie (and Sean) used to think self-care was selfish. Turns out, modeling burnout was the real disservice. When Mom or Dad finally grabs the oxygen mask first, the whole plane flies smoother—and everyone breathes easier.
These examples show the chain in action: Change the root belief → new thoughts and feelings → different actions → transformed results. It's not instant, but it's powerful, and it works for any area—health, relationships, money, parenting. Start small, be patient with yourself, and watch the "tree" grow good fruit. You've got this!
