We all long to progress faster—better health, stronger relationships, thriving business, deeper peace. Yet frustration creeps in when change feels slow or temporary. Why? Often because we're trying to fix things on the surface—like painting leaves and fruit on a tree to make it "look" healthy. The tree stays the same at the root.
My husband used to say, "Go slow to go fast." At first, I didn't fully grasp it. Now I do—and I'm excited to share this simple truth with you.
Lasting results don't come from working harder or staying busier. Most of us already work hard enough. Pushing more often leads to self-sabotage, exhaustion, and burnout. The real key? Work smarter by shifting at the root: your thoughts and beliefs. These drive feelings, actions, and results. Change the mindset, and positive outcomes flow more naturally—with less effort.
This approach ties directly to healing from the roots. When we realign beliefs to truth (especially divine truth), we create fertile soil for growth. Reconnection to God and His power becomes the foundation—everything else follows.
After my first child, I believed motherhood meant sacrifice: "Mothers lose themselves," "Motherhood is hard," "Good mothers live only for their kids," "Fun is gone." These beliefs shaped my thoughts ("I can't make time for myself"), feelings (stress, guilt, anxiety, unappreciated), actions (poor eating, no exercise, baggy clothes, constant busyness), and results (weight gain, depression, unhappy family, stuck in a cycle).
Sheer willpower failed every time—more frustration, more self-sabotage.
Then I shifted the root beliefs:
Mothers are co-partners with God.
God helps with my children.
Motherhood can be fun and exciting.
Mothers can model happiness and balance.
My body can be healthy and beautiful.
New thoughts emerged ("I can balance life and show my kids joy"), feelings (excited, grounded, fulfilled), actions (time-blocking for self-care, exercising, planning healthy meals, dressing with care, resting), and results (healthy weight, calm family, rewarding balance, progression).
I naturally released what weighed me down—because the roots changed.
1. Look at your results: What patterns show up (health, relationships, finances, joy)?
2. Trace the feelings: What emotions drive your daily actions?
3. Dig into thoughts: What stories are you telling yourself?
4. Uncover beliefs: What core ideas (often subconscious) anchor those thoughts?
5. Replant in truth: Replace limiting beliefs with supportive ones, rooted in divine truth and reconnection to God.
Pray, meditate, journal—invite His guidance. Small shifts at the root create exponential change.
